If you do, then you need to try this appetizer for your Christmas table. These easy cream cheese Christmas trees with herbs are the perfect Christmas appetizer for your Christmas table and they are not only delicious but also super fun to prepare with your partner or kids or family.

  1. Form the trees

    Start by grating the cheddar. It is important that the cheddar and cream cheese are not very cold, leave it to room temp for an hour. Mix the cheddar, cream cheese and pesto together, then divide the mixture into 3 and form Christmas trees using plastic foil. Let it cool in the fridge for at least 1 hour or until firm. I let them chill in the freezer for 20 minutes, but that is because I did not have time. The Christmas trees are stable enough but because of the lights and excessive heat we have in our studio they melted quickly, this is why they are a bit unstraight (feel free to watch our instagram video here or the youtube short below)

     

  1. Decorate and finish

    After the Christmas trees have chilled, remove the foil carefully and sprinkle parsley/coriander/chives over them, then decorate with baubles (paprika) and lights (almond flakes). Let your creativity flow. They might not look perfect but they are fun to decorate. Enjoy!
