Description

For all the fish lovers out there, to be more precise tuna lovers, this right here is an amazing fish curry which is really worth trying. The blend between spices, coconut milk, fresh coconut and tuna is simply...amazing!

Sounds really exotic, right? Just like a dish that you would find in Maldives!

You can serve it with steamed rice or flatbread of your choice. It’s very warming and nutritious.

Ingredients
  • 200 ml creamy coconut milk
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 0.5 tsp turmeric powder
  • 3 cloves of garlic (sliced or finely chopped)
  • 1 piece of ginger (sliced or finely chopped)
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • few fresh curry leaves (can use dry leaves too but soaked in hot water for 1-2 minutes)
  • 1 big onion (finely sliced)
  • 250 g fresh tuna (cut into cubes)
  • 0.5 fresh coconut
Instructions
  1. Start by making the curry base. In a blender, add half of the onion, half of the curry leaves, the garlic, the ginger, the coconut and the powdered spices. Add a little bit of water if required and blend. Set aside.

  2. In a pan, heat 1 tbsp oil and fry the remaining onion with some salt until translucent (5 min). Add the curry leaves and the cardamom and cinnamon stick.

  3. Mix everything well and add the tuna. Cook it for 2 minutes, then add the spice paste. Mix everything well and coat every piece of fish with the paste.

  4. Add some water and the coconut milk and let it cook for 2 minutes.

  5. Serve the curry with steamed rice. Enjoy!
